Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for several years. She was raised by her mom and her father, in USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and being made to feel unwelcome. Her confidence began to grow at the age of nineteen when she entered a school audition and was highly praised for her performance. The experience not only helped the confidence of her, but also altered the direction she was heading in her life. In 1992, she received her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. As she was turning 23 years old, she launched her journey on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23 her first film debut was You've Got Mail. Her greatest break came in her role as The Lady of The Lake, in the first Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her performance. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC, she gained greater appreciation. Alongside being an acclaimed singer she also released her own solo album as well as an extended version. She's also an activist who fights for LGBT rights.
